The Twelfth Day of Obamacare

$2.6 trillion spending:  According to the Republican staff of the Senate Budget Committee, the health care law and reconciliation measures include $2.6 trillion in new federal spending in their first ten years of full implementation (i.e. 2014-2023).  That number does NOT include up to an additional $115 billion in discretionary spending associated with the law, as calculated by the Congressional Budget Office.  It also does NOT include the cost of a Medicare “doc fix,” which would add at least $200 billion to this total, and quite possibly more.

So, on the twelfth day of Obamacare, the government gave to me:

$2.6                                        Trillion spending

$2,100                                   Premiums raising

$310,800,000,000              Costs a-soaring

35,000,000                           Coverage dropping

222                                         Rules a-waiving

40,000,000                           Forms a-filling

7,400,000                             MA benes losing

0                                              Oversight hearings

159                                         Boards and programs

16,500                                   IRS agents

21                                           Federal lawsuits

And a health insurance mandate “fee”
